Studio 210 - New York City born artist Meredith Nieves paints, in a combination of traditional modernism and decorative abstraction, works where objects become colors in motion and space.   Many incorporate fruit and vegetables as subject matter and Meredith is particularly adept at personifying their presence on the canvas so they relate to each other and acquire their own personalities.  The viewer is compelled to travel into the painting and get absorbed in the patterns and play of light.

Meredith paints in impasto oil color and always works from life; immediacy is very important to the energy of the painting.
